Places to explore

Charleston Lake is one of the regions deepest lakes and offers over 100 miles of irregular shoreline and cliffs with a number of islands, bays and coves to explore whether by canoe, kayak or boating.  There is a county park, Sand Bay that is an excellent destination for spending an afternoon at the beach located only a few minutes away from the cottage.

Charleston Provincial Park is the largest land owner of the lake.  This park offers varied hiking trails for all experience levels.  Blue Mountain visitors will experience the highest point in the county and will see the breathtaking view of the lake and surronding area from the mountain top.

If you enjoy boating, we have a 20 foot floating dock to secure your boat while you are at the cottage.  Boats can be launched easily at the public boat launch near Kelsey's Marina in Charleston, minutes by land and water to the cottage.  We're the next bay from the launch, in Loon Bay.  You will notice Loon Bay is a great destination for water sports and fishing.  It is also very entertaining to simply sit back and watch the water skiers from the cottage deck.
